Established in 1992, the National Plant Operators Registration Scheme (NPORS) is now one of the UK’s leading Accreditation and Registration Bodies, working across the Construction, Industrial, Utilities, Warehousing and Distribution, Agricultural, Ports and Marine sectors. This training offers flexibility, whilst maintaining standards, both nationally and internationally by working with industry and Accredited Training Providers. It is accepted by United Kingdom Contractors Group (UKCG).
Shandon Construction Training can offer full Novice Training Courses with NPORS assessments at the end for candidates with no previous experience. We ensure that no matter what, you have access to the construction training you need.
If you or your operators are experienced, an Experienced Worker Assessment is available. These can be carried at your own site. For the latter, your site must meet NPORS specification for the category (available upon request) and you must also have the correct items of plant and equipment on site. It is recommended that delegates have at least 2 years prior experience although, as with anything, experience and ability are subjective. Even if your knowledge base or experience is limited, our construction training courses are certain to teach you everything you need to know for the future.
Successful candidates will be issued with an NPORS card, which is valid for 3 or 5 years. Our NPORS training is provided by professionals in the construction industry so they are assured to provide you with the knowledge and skills necessary to complete your course and receive your NPORS card.
As a partner card scheme of CSCS, the NPORS CSCS Construction Operators Card, will now be issued in line with the requirements stipulated by the Construction Leadership Council (CLC) and will display the CSCS logo. The NPORS CSCS Cards that available are the Trained Operator Card (Red), and the Competent Operator Card (blue). The Blue Competent Operator card is only available to those operators who have achieved the relevant NVQ qualification.
If the CSCS logo is not required on your NPORS card, the option to apply for the Traditional NPORS card is still available. Once the training and assessment has successfully been completed the operator will receive a 5 year traditional NPORS card, which is renewable. This card can be endorsed with the Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) test logo, if the operator has passed the relevant HS&E test within the last two years. If they don't have a valid HS&E test, then the card will be awarded without the HS&E logo.
